Yes you heard it right "The only visa-free European country for Indians".
Sounds like a scam right?🤨 I thought it was a piece of fake news too but turns out it is true.😃 Serbia is only Southeast European Balkan's country which offers visa-free travel for Indians. The only thing that travellers don't like about travelling is huge blood sucking tedious visa paperwork.🥴 Since we are talking about visa, getting a Russian visa is very easy. Check my blog Russian Visa Process to know more if Russia is in your bucket list.

What's the deal? 😯
The agreement between the Indian government and Serbian government came into effect from 2nd Sep 2017. As per the agreement, an Indian can visit Serbia visa-free for 30 days, once a year. However, there are few requirements that must be met.
What do I need? 🤔
1. A valid passport with minimum validity of 6 months. You do not need to get a visa for up to 30 days once a year. Although it is communicated to all the airlines, to be on a safer side carry a print out copy of the notice from the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
2. A valid photo identity card issued by the Government of India. Adhaar card, National Voter ID, Driving License etc.
3. Carry sufficient funds as you will have to show them that you are financially stable to afford your stay in Serbia. Sufficient fund is considered 50 Euros a day which you should be able to show by means of cash in hand or bank account/credit card/debit card. Do not take a risk at all and carry cash either in Euros or USD. There are instances where Indians were deported from the airport even when they had sufficient cash in the bank and credit card but immigration didn't listen to them. So, having cash in hand can be a saver. Air tickets are very costly, so do not take this risk at all.
4. Certificate of vaccination that you are not carrying any contagious disease.
5. Medical health insurance with least cover of 20,000 Euros. Check policy bazar to get the best deal. It's not very expensive.
6. Confirm hotel bookings and return ticket. You can book hostels through Booking.com for cheap stays and book flight tickets from Sky Scanner. The flight costs around 40 k roundtrip and you can get 8 days to stay in a hostel in about 8-10 k. If you dig a little more, you can get an even better sweet deal.
Now, Why Serbia? 😯

Serbia has been at the crossroads of ancient Orthodox Christianity and Islam that makes it culture vast and vivid. You will get to see Magnificent churches, Floating bars, Cafe culture, Music festivals Giant fortress, Beaches, Local park and Wildlife.
Isn't it ENOUGH! let me give you a few fun facts about Serbia
a) All the Vampire Diaries & The originals fans: It is believed that the word "Vampire" is traced back to Serbia. Vampire word is evolved from the Serbian word "Vampir". This reason is enough for me. I am sold!
b) All the History buffs, Serbia was the birthplace of 18 Roman Emperors.
c) The assassination of Franz Ferdinand led the invasion of Serbia by Austria-Hungry which further set the path towards World War I. Ain't that reason alone to wear your travelling hat and set your course towards Serbia.
d) If you are a Raspberries lover? Look no further! Serbia accounts for 95% of the world's Raspberries.
e) You must have seen a lot of belly dancing, Rumba cha - cha - cha. Interested in Insect Dance? Don't miss the blooming dance of life and death by insects known as The Palingenia Longicauda at Tisza River. Visit in June if you want to see this phenomenon that lasts for 10 minutes.
Not sure about you, but it’s quite appealing to me and the best thing is you don’t need to go through tedious visa paperwork. I am planning a solo trip probably in February or March. Get in touch if you want to tag along.
